Fun essay! As a reformed Baptist growing up we damn well ignored the pagan holiday. As a non-religious pantheist, we enjoy the holiday...though you should have seen the look of confusion on my daughter when I old her the gospel story a couple of years ago. I might as well have told her the story of Jason and the Argonauts.
