I disagree with the statement that Capt Aubrey is not an intellectual. You sir are only two books deep and have nineteen more to go to really understand his abilities as a musician, navigator and mathematician.
That’s fair. I think he is often the foil to Mautrin’s erudition and analytical brain. That seems clear. But I didn’t mean to suggest Aubrey is not constantly thinking. And I look forward to the rest of the series! :)
